You’re mad, my dear, you’ve got to go to Berlin.

Individual freedom for self-expression is the spirit of Berlin. Protecting and promoting this spirit is the mission of Kinky Berlin e.V.

We are Berlin-based kink creators: designers, event organisers, coaches, retailers and artists. We live the Berlin dream and ensure that Berlin remains an attractive city.

Over 12 million visitors come to Berlin every year to discover themselves. They dance the night away with strangers who become friends. They’ve seen so many other ‘crazy’ people that they no longer need the courage to open up. What breaks with convention elsewhere is part of Berlin’s culture. We at Kinky Berlin work within this culture every day and have come to realise that our interests are Berlin’s interests.

So that, in the future too, everyone in Berlin can be happy in their own way.

Our History

The association was founded by Tonia Merz.

Tonia set up her corset workshop, To.mto Berlin, in 2002. She was firmly rooted in the tradition of the wild 1920s and embodied this from head to toe.

Her sudden death in 2024 from a brain haemorrhage came as a huge shock to the entire community. Yet she created something that will endure. Her spirit lives on in her corset workshop and in Kinky Berlin e.V. Her passion for beautiful things, her fervour for tolerance and respect, and her sense of decency within the indecent live on within us.
